AKA TV: SeeSaw To Offer LocaModa Apps To Digital Signage Partners

LocaModa, who last week signed a deal with TouchTunes to bring social networking to digital signage in juke boxes across bars and clubs, has today announced a link up with advertising sales aggregator SeeSaw Networks.

LocaModa is a technology company that provides a mobile social platform that connects consumers’ favorite online and out-of-home locations. It enables social networkers to use their mobile phone to interact with digital screens in bars and coffee shops, and have those interactions posted to social networking sites like Facebook.

For SeeSaw this means that in future they will be able to offer all of their media network partners LocaModa functionality for their venues. For example, through LocaModa a particular bar or coffee shop on Main Street can also exist on Facebook, where people in the venue or fans of the venue appear online. LocaModa provides a suite of interactive applications like contests and games that networks can incorporate into their programming to attract people to participate, thus making the screens more engaging and rewarding for the consumer. Bar patrons can also create a “Shout Out” and have it appear as a comment on the Facebook page for the bar, as a Twitter message directing friends to meet them there, or on digital screens in other locations.

SeeSaw provides agencies with a one-stop shop to buy digital out-of-home media and mobile marketing campaigns across 22,000 venues nationally. It represents 36 digital signage networks across 25 different categories and reaches over 100 million per week.

SeeSaw is quickly establishing itself as a major force in the digital signage industry - it has been busy signing up existing networks, catching new start ups through deals with the software suppliers, and now it is working with other content and application providers to add a range of enhanced functionality to its services.

With national campaign advertisers looking for scale, audience and reach when placing their campaigns, it looks as if SeeSaw will be in the envious position of creating the ultimate virutous circle - more networks, attracting more advertisers, attracting more networks, attracting more advertisers and so on…

The LocaModa application is a great concept, and stretches the boundaries of digital signage interactivity to a point that could not even have been imagined 12 months ago.
