Monte Zweben Founder, Chairman of the Board

Monte brings over 15 years of experience founding and leading successful start-up companies. Prior to SeeSaw, Monte was the founder and CEO of Blue Martini Software - the leader in multi-channel systems for retailers. Blue Martini revolutionized a new approach to direct response marketing and is now a private company called Escalate Retail. Monte also founded and was the Chairman & CEO of Red Pepper Software, a leading Supply Chain Optimization company which merged with PeopleSoft. Monte’s early career was spent with the NASA Ames Research Center as the Deputy Branch Chief of the Artificial Intelligence Branch, where he won the prestigious Space Act Award for his work on the Space Shuttle program. Monte is the co-author of Intelligent Scheduling and has published articles in the Harvard Business Review and various computer science journals and conference proceedings. He serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board for Carnegie-Mellon University’s School of Computer Science.

Peter Bowen Founder, Chief Executive Officer

Peter brings over 25 years of marketing and senior management experience running multi-billion organizations in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry. Prior to SeeSaw, he ran multiple domestic and international divisions of the H. J. Heinz Company including: Heinz UK & Ireland Ltd. as Managing Director; Heinz USA Retail Division as President; Star-Kist Foods Inc. as President; Heinz Pet Products Company as President & CEO; Star-Kist Seafood Company as President; and Heinz Middle East, India & N. Africa Region as Area Vice President. Pete started his marketing career at Procter & Gamble. Most recently, Pete has been a consultant to entrepreneurial companies, both domestic and international, focusing on market entry strategies and opportunity assessment.

Tench Coxe Board Member, Sutter Hill Ventures

Tench Coxe focuses his investments in telecommunications hardware, application software, semiconductors, and payment infrastructure.

Tench joined the firm in 1987 following his tenure with Digital Communications Associates in Atlanta, where he managed T-1 products and directed internal MIS and marketing. Previously, he worked with Lehman Brothers in New York City, where he was a corporate financial analyst specializing in mergers and acquisitions as well as debt and equity financing.

His current directorships include Artisan Partners, Ceon , eLoyalty , FaceTime Communications , NVidia and Ruckus Wireless . He was also responsible for the firm’s investment in Alteon Networks, @mobile, Avant! , Edify, Legato , Lynk Systems, Network Appliance , Grand Junction, NCD, OnStream Networks , Red Seal Systems , Synernetics, Primary Access, and XcelleNet.

Tench graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in economics. He earned his MBA in 1984 from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Business.

Jim Gaither Board Member, Sutter Hill Ventures

Jim Gaither joined Sutter Hill Ventures in 2000 after working with Sutter Hill for many years as advisor, lawyer, Special Limited Partner and fellow director of portfolio companies.

Jim has been a leading Silicon Valley lawyer and entrepreneur for many years, and helped build his firm, Cooley Godward LLP, into one of the top technology firms in the country. He is currently on the boards of the following companies: Kineto Wireless , NVidia , Levi Strauss and Satmetrix Systems . Jim also has active philanthropic interests. He has served as Chairman of the Stanford Board of Trustees, as well as its investment committee, and as Chair of the Stanford Law School’s Advisory Council and Capital Campaign. He also served on the Boards of the RAND Corporation and as Chairman of the Board of The James Irvine Foundation. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and as Vice Chairman of The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.

Jim received his BA in Economics from Princeton in 1959 and his JD from Stanford in 1964. Following graduation from law school, he clerked for Chief Justice of the United States, Earl Warren and was a Special Assistant in the Justice Department and Staff Assistant to President Lyndon Johnson before returning to the Bay Area.
